Yup, I'm in total agreement about George Carlin! PBS's Fresh Air program (Terry Gross, moderator--you've seen a few photos of her in Vanity Fair) ran a ......1974? Not sure what year, suffice to say an ages old Terry Gross/Carlin interview, done directly after the Supreme Court decided that George, nor you and I could not say shit, damn, "f-fiddlesticks," etc.
Evidently his mom was a big fan of words--fed him big words first crack out of the box--all those obscure words, i.e, Carlin turned into a word guy.
My kids were raised on him and the Smothers Brothers.
A friend of mine made a good point-he lived a happy life, went to the hospital, and died. No long drawn out illness for him. We should all be so lucky!
