Book Review

I Am Legend by Richard Matheson.

I could have sworn that I heard or read somewhere that this was an excellent book with some kind of bizarre plot twist, but I found neither. I had a lot of trouble finishing it, and I probably wouldn't have if I wasn't expecting greatness.

Vampires have basically taken over the earth, and there is one man left who isn't a vampire, blah blah blah. Maybe the movies better.

I love the 2nd remake of that book. It was called Omega Man with Charleton Heston as the last man, and these really cheesy white haired vampires. It was half early 70s sci-fi unintentional camp and half Blaxploitation.

As a serious film... not so much. The 3rd remake, with Will Smith was better at being dramatic, but I guess I'm just done with the hollywood Zombie/Vampire fetish.

Never read the book, and based on your review I probably never will.

Currently I'm reading "Virtually Normal", "A heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" and a dissociative manual =/

I'm kind of over it too, though I did just get "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies"-looking forward to reading that one!
